Matte Building is a Newcastle based small business dedicated to building exceptional homes through careful planning, attention to detail and a trusted team of skilled trades.
From complex architectural renovations to small bathroom upgrades, we approach every project with the same attention to detail, reliable communication and trusted network of skilled trades. Our goal is to make the building process seamless and stress-free, while exceeding expectations at every stage.

Matt had his heart set on becoming a carpenter for as long as he can remember, graduating at the top of his class for year 12 Woodwork then dove straight into an apprenticeship. Transitioning to a Builder was a no brainer for him as he loved his trade and wanted to take his career to the next level. After completing his Certificate IV in Building in 2018 Matt set out to start his own business, Matte Building.
Matt is described by his friends as the nicest guy you’ll ever meet, so if you want a kind, reliable and hard working builder, Matt is your guy.

The team at Matte Building have been hand selected for their professionalism, expertise and passion for carpentry. Along side our builder we have our leading hand carpenter with 18 years of industry experience and senior carpenter with 14 years of experience who help oversee and maintain quality on every project. Each team member brings a unique set of skills, are hard working and quite simply legends, on and off-site.
Our culture is based on respect, kindness and appreciation. We value a positive working environment, and the benefits of this flow onto our clients and our families.
